Cursed by Hindsight - User Interface art

  • Cursed by Hindsight is an roguelike game made in 9 days for Godot Wild Jam #54.
The theme Jam was : “Curses” and we used “Faustian Bargin” wildcard.

  • I was responsible for the User interface art.

  • UI assets were made in Illustrator combining flat icons with organic shapes and finished in
Photoshop with texturing. We also add some VFX animation smoke in engine.

  • Cursed by Hindsight is isometric roguelike game where you play as a Devil and you have to escape from Paradise in a short series of mini-games. The game was made with Godot engine.

  • The game won overall 12th place out of 80 entries, ranked 4th for visuals.

  • Our team was large with 12 people, but only 2 were in the art department (I was one of them).
The biggest challenge was to execute the right ideas on time. As a result, we ended up creating a series
of minigames that could have been better with improved organization and time management.
I worked closely with the other artist, exchanging ideas and feedback. I enjoyed the process, and it showed with a high ranking in the visuals score.
