The Crete Escape -
User Interface, additional art

  • I was a part of a game development team for Polytely Games and we participated in
106$ Adventure Game Jam that lasted for 14 days.
The theme of the jam was: “Stranger in a strange land”

  • I was primarily responsible for the user interface, game assets, additional art and itch game page design. I also contributed to pitching winning story idea, collecting resources for the art, sound and writing team and supervising junior pixel artist who made in-game items.

  • I hand drawn and made sketches of initial ideas and polished them in Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • The Crete Escape is a point-n-click adventure filled with humour and historically accurate elements with beautiful hand-drawn visuals set in Crete, Greece.
The game is also fully voice-acted. It was created with Visionaire Studio.

  • The game won overall 4th place out of 18 entries, winning 1st place for visuals and audio

  • We were a team of 8 people consisting of 4 artists, a sound designer, an engineer, a writer and
an animator. The biggest challenge was to organize the team in the first few days and make everyone on the same page with tasks and pacing.
We have managed to become highly organized through regular communication via Discord, structured to-do lists, and detailed game design document (GDD).

  • You can play the game HERE
